Tiger Uncage Street Food Festival 2018


Want to know what is in store for the upcoming Tiger Uncage Street Food Festival this weekend(1st & 2nd December)? What has Siew Yoke Briyani, Bacon Popcorn & Ramen Burger have in common? They are what is coming out of the kitchens of the 3 uncaged heroes who overcame their fears and followed their culinary dreams, Im Cheah, Herukh Jethwani and Jun Chan at the Tiger Uncage Street Food Fest. Being part of the first few who are lucky enough to attend the Media preview to have a taste of what was coming, I would say the Street Food Fest is gonna be a great one to join. Here is why!


The coming Food Fest would see over 20 of the finest established food vendors in Malaysia along with Tiger's Uncage Heroes such as MyBurgerLab, Makirito, The Porki Society and Softsrve which would be serving over more than 40 mouth watering exclusive and unique dishes just for you!


 The preview session was officiated by Jiri Rakosnik, Marketing Director of HEINEKEN Malaysia and Pearly Lim, Marketing Manager of Tiger Beer along with Tiger's uncaged heroes.


We started with some heavy popcorns. Why heavy? Cos it's Bacon & Sambal Ikan Bilis Popcorn brought to us by the Baconist, Im.


 Forget soft drink with popcorns and grab a Tiger to go along with your popcorns.


More popcorns calls for more beer right? Along with the Bacon & Sambal Ikan Bilis Popcorn, there's also the Bacon & Gula Melaka Popcorn


 Then came Jun's creation, the exclusive Ramen Burger with Tiger Beer cheddar cheese sauce..


 and the all about 'Balls', the "Main Bola", egg plant, minced brisket meatball, sweet potato gravy with a local touch of belacan sofrito, ayam kampong egg and salted egg crumble.


Then Herukh sent in his famous melting in the mouth Siew Yoke Briyani, one of the best dishes served in his establishment, Meat The Porkers. p.s. The crispy fried pork fat toppings is something you don't really wanna miss.


Next up was his mini tandoori pork ribs tacos sautéed in crispy prawn chilli, garlic and curry leaves dish


 Bite sized and flavorful, just nice for a mouthful that keeps you wanting for more


You did thought that desserts would be normal right? Wrong. Here we are served with Im's ‘Going Bananas Over Bacon’, bacon ice cream and pisang goreng topped with sticky-sweet rum gula Melaka caramel.


I didn't get enough of the ice cream so I did the unthinkable, I got the whole tub for my table of Bloggers. =)

Rapid KL LIED!! TIPU!!

I have been a Rapid KL user since the days of Intrakota and Star LRT. Yes, that roughly tells you how long I had relied on public transport to move around KL. I mean the infrequent train and the rise in fares had affected me in a bad way but it's still bearable. The cost of taking the bus home had risen from a mere RM40++ for RM2 daily bus pass to RM100 for a bus pass. This doesn't include the train rides I take. To make it worse, they boast LIED in their brochures that "SAVE 50% on fares when you buy passes". I think the brochures should be rewritten as "YOU PAY EXTRA 100% on fares even when you buy passes" or "WE EARN DOUBLE FROM PASS SALES".
